Pharmacy Technician

Program Overview

The Twilight Adult School Pharmacy Technician Program equips students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists in community, hospital, and retail pharmacy settings. This comprehensive program prepares students for national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Graduates gain a strong foundation in:

  • Pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethics
  • Prescription processing and patient records
  • Pharmaceutical calculations and dosage forms
  • Drug classifications and interactions
  • Inventory management and compounding techniques
  • Communication and professionalism in healthcare

Training includes classroom instruction, hands-on lab simulations, and a supervised externship in a pharmacy or healthcare facility.


Program Requirements

  • Successful completion of the pre-registration assessment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proof of physical exam, TB test, and clear background screening

Enrollment Process

All Career Technical Education (CTE) students must complete an entrance exam to qualify for enrollment.
After the exam, prospective students will meet with a Twilight Adult School counselor to discuss career goals, program options, and financial aid eligibility.
